Restoring more than buildings.
Mission
To restore and reactivate the historic commercial heart of St. Stephen so that local businesses, families, and visitors once again have a downtown worth gathering in.
Vision
A thriving, walkable Main Street where every restored storefront tells the story of a town that has stood since 1754 — and intends to stand for centuries more.
History
Founded in 1754, St. Stephen grew up around its rail line and its Main Street shops. As commerce moved elsewhere the storefronts emptied — but the brick, the bones, and the live-oak spirit of the town remain.
A town worth saving.
The live oak on our town crest has watched St. Stephen change for more than two and a half centuries. The Small Town Restoration project began with a simple belief: a downtown is the memory of a community made visible.
Working block by block with residents, business owners, and the Town of St. Stephen, we stabilize historic facades, return ground floors to active use, and reopen doors that have been closed for too long.
